Young men are photographed with a large format camera. Each element of the picture related to the description of the person is highlighted with permanent markers. Even with all the good will in the world, the marker drawings are only a clumsy representation of the model pictured. This underlines how wanting to define precisely those elements is utopian and can result in a cartoon effect, which distorts the reality and “laminates” (Döblin) the individual.

Sont redessinés au feutre, sur les photographies, les éléments du portrait sur lesquels reposent la description de la personne. Vouloir définir avec précision ces éléments ne serait-il pas finalement une utopie, qui aurait pour seul résultat un effet de caricature, qui défigure l’individu, qui le «lamine» (Döblin) ? Ce que le collectif impose à l’individu au travers de la représentation de l’identité, c’est la mise en évidence de ses caractéristiques associée à la dissolution inévitable de son identité.
