Realized at the Père-Lachaise cemetery in Paris, Déserteurs is a form of response to the works of 3 famous men who are buried there : Valentin Haüy (1745-1822), the first school teacher for the blind, Félix Tournachon known as Nadar (1820-1910), the famous portrait photographer, and Alphonse Bertillon (1853-1914), the inventor of judicial anthropometry. Physical as well as conceptual sentinels for Déserteurs, Stéphanie Solinas photographed their tombs.

Réalisé au cimetière du Père-Lachaise à Paris, Déserteurs fait écho aux œuvres de 3 hommes illustres reposant en ce lieu : Valentin Haüy (1745-1822), premier instituteur des aveugles, Félix Tournachon dit Nadar (1820-1910), fameux photographe portraitiste, et Alphonse Bertillon (1853-1914), inventeur de l’anthropométrie judicaire.
