For these 2 photographers, identity is seen as a process open to otherness in which each person reinvents and reconstructs oneself to become multiple and infinitely mobile. Visible through selected extracts from their major photographic and publishing projects, this external rather than internal form of identity is also developed in a duo work, an autobiographical and photographic ‘exquisite corpse’ entitled Fourrure, Vitrine, Photographie specially created for this exhibition.
Confrontant des extraits de leurs principaux projets photographiques et éditoriaux, les 2 artistes abordent l’identité non pas comme un bien propre, donné et intériorisé, dont la photographie assurerait la permanence, mais comme un processus ouvert à l’altérité, dans lequel chaque individu s’invente, se recompose, se démultiplie, infiniment mobile. Ils présentent également une œuvre commune, un cadavre exquis autobiographique et photographique intitulé Fourrure, vitrine, photographie, spécialement conçue pour l’exposition.
